Recently I've been looking into what it means to be a psychic, and in only a few days of research, I can tell you a few things that may educate you enough to determine if you really want to take up the practice of being a psychic. First thing is that it is not easy and that just because you may study for years and years, you may not just be able to pull out an accurate reading out of thin air any time you want. The thing about psychic abilities is that the information comes to the psychic, often times in a very timely fashion, often times in a horrible fashion and at an even worse time. Also, psychics can get a lot of information that they really do not want to know, so it isn't all good.
Now, I'm sure that most of you reading this are wondering "I don't care, I just want to know how to get psychic powers." Trust me, I was the same way, but unfortunately, you can't just learn a technique and have it come to you because there aren't any real techniques that are guaranteed to work. I was just as disappointed as I'm sure you will be when you hear this, but developing your psychic powers requires practice, as does most things like drawing, singing, playing an instrument, etc. Those of us who have a passion for it will stick with it, and those who don't will have to find some other way.
The best way to develop your psychic abilities is to sit down regularly(maybe every day, every few days a week, every weekend, etc.) and meditate, focus in on yourself, and then let the information come to you. You cannot force the information to come, that is not how it works, but you can make it easier for it to reach you by removing interference such as appliances(cellphones, TV, computers), cleansing yourself and your aura, grounding yourself before you start, and refraining to intake things that might make you hyper like soda or sugary foods before you practice. It might seem like a lot of nothing is happening and that you are just sitting there trying to focus, but often times those thoughts that come into your mind are things that we obtained through psychic means. At first it may seem like nothing is happening, but if you continue to do this, over time results will show themselves, maybe faster for some than others, but patience is the key. Also, there are some exercises that people recommend, so if you are interested in pursuing the art of psychometry, then you should look into them. Good luck. Maybe someday I'll get a psychic reading telling me how many people who read this were successful lol.

Protection Spell
This spell will work best with a full coven, however, like all spells or rituals, it can be adapted to fit your situation. First, get your coven into a circle and have each hold a white taper candle(you will need nine), if you are alone or only have a few people, then you can just have each person hold one candle, or you could divide the nine candles between the people, or you could just get one large pillar candle. Once everybody has their candle lit, invite whoever you are protecting to the center of the circle. If they aren't present, you can print out a picture of them or just write their name on a piece of paper and place it in the center, maybe with something of theirs around it if you want. Once you have done so, have everyone say the following incantations, each person should say one, or if it is just you, then say each. If you don't have nine people, but maybe four for example, just rotate so everybody says one until there aren't any more.

Recipe for Cursing Oil
I've seen one particular curse around the web that involves making a slit in a lemon and placing a picture of the person to be cursed in the slit, then driving nine nails into the lemon and pouring cursing oil over it. However, I have never seen a recipe for cursing oil or any place where you can buy it, so here it is:
A half cup of oil(vegetable, olive, canola, mineral any kind works fine) placed on a low heat, a dozen grinds of black pepper, nine pinches of ginger(ground or if fresh then sliced finely), one petal of the flower of black(just a black flower petal, must be a real flower), and a fistful of thorns.
Now, though this is just the recipe I created for this purpose(based on the properties of herbs and colors, and yes black pepper and ginger can be used for cursing), it is not the only recipe for the job.
Several herbs are used for binding or cursing such as: Black Pepper, Ginger, Mustard Seed, Poppyseed, cacti, nightshade(poisonous), henbane(poisonous) and hemlock(poisonous). Now you can add these to any oil for a decent cursing oil, my recipe doesn't have to be used, it is just an example for you, however it will work. Also, if the curse kills the person(unlikely) then you must be prepared to deal with the consequences. Always behold the law of 3, so if doing any curse, then you must be prepared for the karma to come back to you. I am not responsible for any harm done to yourself and others by use of the information of this post, the information is used at one's own expense.

Divination
I have spoken to some people who are interested in wicca and witchcraft and many of them have said that their only interest is in divination such as scrying, tarot or rune readings, reading tea leaves, palm readings, etc. Let me inform everybody here about divination. When divining anything, it only throws your reading off if you try and force anything to happen with energy or other means, it is only disrupting the natural forces of the fate of the universe. In witchcraft, it is necessary to add energy to spells and rituals to give them enough power to manifest into the universe, however divination isn't about making something manifest, it is about observing what is supposed to manifest by how fate is laid at the current time. Divination is observation, skillful observation because it does take knowledge to be able to translate what the universe is revealing to us, but it's not about forcing anything to happen. However, many people will do divination and then if they aren't happy with the way fate is going, they might try to change it with some sort of spell and then do another divination exercise to see how their fate has changed. I hope that this has cleared up much confusion on the subject, and if you are hoping to learn how to do any form of divination from me, then you are asking the wrong person. What is Magick?
When we think about magic, a lot of people think fiction and "make believe" and for some people, it is fiction because they don't conceive what witches do as magic. Others see it as witchcraft, as something evil, which is also untrue. The evil isn't in the craft, it is in the user. When there is a murder, do we see the gun as evil? No, we blame the person because it was their actions that fired the gun, and that is the same as witchcraft. It is harmless unless somebody puts it to use for harm. Also, some people see witchcraft as an art, a true craft, but even so not all of these people truly understand what it is.
To put it simply, witchcraft is the manifestation of one's will into the universe. What this means is that we are taking what we want to happen and putting enough energy and power behind that desire to make it manifest into the universe. This might not sound like witchcraft, but this is the essence of it. We don't need all of the candles, rituals, incantations and tools, however for many people it helps them visualize this because the act of sitting down and just raising energy can be quite boring and uneventful and it's hard to stay focused. By adding candles, incantations, corresponding colors and tools it helps guide people in the right direction to make it more exciting, fun and easier.
So, that is the essence of witchcraft. This doesn't mean that you should stop using candles and tools and just sit in the middle of a room and raise energy, that is boring and I'm sure not going to just do that. Keep doing what you normally do, but just keep this in the back of your brain and pull it up if you have a spell or ritual that isn't working so well and it might remind you to put power behind your will.
Note: Energy healing isn't quite the same concept as typical spells and rituals, it involves more concentrated channeling and manipulation of the energy. It technically isn't witchcraft, although it falls under the same category of the occult/new age stuff. This was just so you weren't confused if you read some of my other posts. Also, properties of herbs and crystals also do help and are not just to help focus.

Guardian Angels
Well, it's a new year, though the Wiccan new year was all the way back at the 31st of October. If you aren't wiccan or pagan or some other religion or culture whose new year is different than that of January 1, Happy New Years!
Now, I've been reading a lot of books involving angels, mainly fiction and a lot of the songs I've been listening to and the poems I've been writing are about angels. Basically, I've gotten a little obsessed with angels at the moment, and I was wondering if they were truly real. Then, after a little research I stumbled upon a site devoted to angels, http://www.angelfocus.com and it turns out that every human born is assigned with 2 angels that watch over them since birth. So everyone in the world has 2 angels at the least looking out for them, and contacting them is very simple.
Our guardian angels are there to help us, although they cannot interfere with out life(besides keepign us from physical harm) without our requests. In order to contact them, you have to call them, which is as simple as just saying "angels, I need you" or something along those lines. They are always there watching over us and will always come. Even if they are with us, you might not feel them or notice their prescence because you have grown up with it so you have already learned to recognize it, although you can also ask them to allow you to feel their prescence, and if you focus and concentrate on doing so, then you can feel them. I have felt my angels several times, and I know they are there because I often get a cool breeze coming over me, like they are encircling me.
You can also talk to your angels, although it might not be like a normal conversation where you hear them speak. They can hear you though and they will answer, but it takes time for you to recognize them, and often times you will simply "feel" their response, when others may hear it. They will also come to you in dreams to help aid you or pass on messages, so that is another way for them to contact you and it may requoire a little deciphering of your dreams to make out a meaning.
I suppose it is up to you whether you want to beleive in your angels, and if you don't believe they are there then you will probably never feel them, but if you do beleive they are there and keep yourself tuned in to their prescence, you will notice their actions. I hope that you can learn to communicate with your angels so that they will be able to help you more. Crystal Therapy
Crystals, as I have said in earlier post, are very remarkable and possess qualities that can improve health if used correctly, and I'm going to describe one way of using them correctly. Now this is a physical treatment, not a mental one. Crystal therapy involves being covered with crystals, that's just about it.
Of course, there is a bit more to it than being covered with crystals, but that's the basic idea. The crystals can help improve certain parts of the body like intestines, blood, the heart, mind, aches, draw out sickness, improve emotional status, accelerate psychic abilities, those are only a few to name. Like if you were aching at your stomach you might put quartz there even though the chakra is orange, but it would be best to put an orange stone AND the quartz. that is just about it. Have fun experimenting with this, once you get the technique down, placing the crystals in new places is fun and feeling the effects is great, but don't forget to purify your crystals in salt water after every 1-3 times you use them for best results.

Why magic works
I've recently been doing some research into more old forms of witchcraft, like how ancient tribes performed it and the kind of objects they used and it made me start wondering. Part of practicing witchcraft is also learning what makes it work and why and I'm really starting to make some great connections. As we do things, often times we don't question why doing them is going to make a difference, but we need to because piecing things together forms a bigger picture and makes everything easier and more understandable.
I was talknig to somebody on a social network and they were saying that dark magic is easier to perform that good magic, and though I don't approve of it necessarily, in a way it does make sense. He said that he would use blood often as an offering to the spirits, which he didn't specify, but he said that he could feel the energy present much faster than if he was donig a ritual without blood, and I think that the reason behind this is because blood is a life force. Everything in our body is manditory in order for us to sustain life, and living we have energy and emotion, but when we're dead we are simply an inanimate object. If you use something that possibly came from a living creature, it's possible that you can manipulate it's lifeforce before it's completely drained out. A lot of ancient forms of magic called for this and if it didn't work then I don't think that they would have continued to perform the rituals that way.
Now please don't get me wrong and think I'm a bad person and I'm gonig to start performnig dark magic, I'm a good witch and I do good magic, but learning about dark magic is also important because it shows a side to witchcraft that good witches like myself haven't experienced. But, back to why I think it is harder for witches who don't practice dark magic to perform rituals succesfully, I think so because we have replaced blood and a lot of parts to a ritual with things like water, salt and other items that never contained a life force so manipulating a force that isn't there isn't possible, so most of the enrgy used comes from ourselves.

Old traditions
Sadly, a lot of traditions that started in ancient countries are starting to die out and are being replaced by new traditions, and in ways that is good but it is also a bad thing. I think that revolutionizing witchcraft is important because it's gongi to happen whether peopel like it or not, but the sad thing is that because modern day society is so close minded on witchcraft in general, a lot of traditions are either being dropped or replaced with representations. Let's face it that a lot of old cultures had magic practitioners, such as high priests/priestesses from ancient celtic lands, shamans from small villages, voodoo priests from small tribes, and a lot of them had some rather crude customs, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't learn from them and figure out WHY they did that. Back in ancient times, magic, for some people was a living and not just a practice and they used it every day and passed it on through generations, and if the traditions were passed on then there must have been some credibility to them, right?
A lot of these people used natural ingredients in spells, potions, rituals and charms. They might have used bones, venoms, blood, etc. but that doesn't mean they neccesarily went out and killed these animals or people to get these ingredients. Even if they did kill them, the ingredients must have been important for them to take measures like that and a part of magic is learning from ourselves and others, including those from ancient times because back then people's senses weren't as dilluted as now and they were more in sync with nature and the natural balance of things.
Now, remember that I'm not saying that you should go out and kill a bunch of things, DON'T do that, it's wrong. What I am saying is that we should study why magic practitioners took the actions they did in those times when performnig ceremonies or just in general life because it might support a lot of today's beleifs and fuel your understanding for how magic really works. Have fun!

Samhain
So the autumn is here and of course that means that Samhain is near. First, before I do anything I want to clear up the correct pronunciation of Samhain. It isn't pronounced how it looks, it's pronounced as if it were spelled (Sowen). Just a little tidbit of info for you there.
Anyway, so my coven, Moonweb Coven now has four members! I know that it's not a lot but thats okay because they are all my best friends and you don't need a big coven to do magic, you don't even need a coven, but some of us like to have one. Unfortunately because of fighting gonig on between two members in the coven, the plans for Samhain have been split up between different members of the Coven, but oh well.
So, I am stil lexcited about thisw because I've been planning this for a while and we're gonig to have a feast and a big circle and its going to be really fun and were even gonig to camp outside. I'm really excited and I'll definitley give an update about how that goes. Also, it's about time to start harvesting before Samahin gets here. I've got to harvest some of my herbs to use in the ceremony on Samhain so I'll do that probably tomorrow and then dry them and the rest can be harvested throughout the little remaining time before the first frost comes.
Just felt like giving an update to let people know I', still alive and to share some of my enthusiasm! Everyone enjoy your Samhain!
Anyway, so my coven, Moonweb Coven now has four members! I know that it's not a lot but thats okay because they are all my best friends and you don't need a big coven to do magic, you don't even need a coven, but some of us like to have one. Unfortunately because of fighting gonig on between two members in the coven, the plans for Samhain have been split up between different members of the Coven, but oh well.
